Because of all the
movies, comic books, and books that have been published on vampires,
we have gained a strong misconception on what a vampire really looks like. What was and
is portrayed in the movies by Hollywood is black, slicked backed hair, very pale skin,
fear of sunlight, eyes that look dead, and rat like fangs to suck the blood of the mortal
human. In reality today, a vampire, like myself, is almost identical to any other human.
We have to eat food (other than blood), not all of us have long jet-black hair, we don't
have extraordinarily long fingernails, and a majority of us do not suck the blood of
others. We are not monstrous creatures that turn into bats nor do we only come out at
night. We do not have sensitivity to sunlight that will cause us to burn to ashes if we
are exposed to it.
I have yet to meet a true vampire who is immortal either. Our vital
organs are the same as well as all of our bodily functions. Fact is that you yourself
have probably come in contact with a vampire and not known it. Sure there are the people
who are infatuated with the vampire lifestyle and try to play it out as Hollywood has made
it seem, but these are not true vampires. Bluntly put, these are the wannabes.
This site will hopefully open people's eyes to the real vampire culture of modern today
and dismiss the phonies that are out there trying to live a Hollywood type vampire
lifestyle. Here you will find several stories of well known as well as not- so-well-known
vampires of history, actual historical events dealing with vampirism, along with my
commentary of vampires and beliefs based on the knowledge I have as a vampire in today's
society.
